Self-initiated business card redesign / refresh.
As a personal project I set myself the task of redesigning my business cards from my degree show in 2016. I wanted to keep the ‘Juicy Lucy’ / ‘pick your flavour’ concept as it’s proven to be a memorable and amusing conversation starter, which is always a plus when networking.
This time round, instead of copying the same illustration and changing up the colour / flavour - I decided to explore more varied packaging shapes to give each card it’s own personality.
The info side of the card in the original set was very simple and clean - for the 2019 refresh I wanted to carry over some of the humour of the Juice concept (after trying some some more straight forward / uninspiring options). I came up with a “Nutritional Facts” section to relate back to Juice packaging. I added some colour bars / printers marks that you can sometimes find on packaging, and matched them to the colours of the unique backs to reference the full set of designs.
I wanted the look and feel of these cards to be nostalgic and lighthearted. I drew inspiration from drinks from my childhood such as Sunny D, Slush puppies, Capri Sun & Ribena.
Printed by Moo on 100% cotton made from recycled t-shirts.
The Juicy Lucy cards were one of 6 designs chosen to be part of a print campaign with MOO showcasing their creative customers. I went to MOO to assist in the reshooting of the cards for print, these images were later featured in a poster campaign.
