Self-initiated business card redesign / refresh.
As a personal project I set myself the task of redesigning my business cards from my degree show in 2016. I wanted to keep the ‘Juicy Lucy’ / ‘pick your flavour’ concept as it’s proven to be a memorable and amusing conversation starter, which is always a plus when networking.
This time round, instead of copying the same illustration and changing up the colour / flavour - I decided to explore more varied packaging shapes to give each card it’s own personality.
The info side of the card in the original set was very simple and clean, the design was very much '“business in the front, party in the back” - for the 2019 refresh I wanted to carry over some of the humour of the Juice concept (after trying some some more straight forward / uninspiring options). I came up with a “Nutritional Facts” section to relate back to Juice packaging. I changed the colour of the colour bars / printers marks that you can sometimes find on packaging to match the colours of the unique backs to reference the full set of designs.
I wanted the look and feel of these cards to be nostalgic and lighthearted. I drew inspiration from drinks from my childhood such as Sunny D, Slush puppies, Capri Sun & Ribena.
